David Myers is an aerospace & defense industry executive with over 25 years of experience across multiple sectors including aircraft and spacecraft manufacturing, satellite ground systems, network operations, and tactical systems integration. He has led transformations to enter new markets, launch new products, and revitalize distressed businesses. David has held P&L responsibility for free standing private equity owned companies and divisions of multi-billion-dollar publicly traded organizations.

Focusing on leadership through product innovation, David fosters market differentiation, a strong sales engine, and a culture that prioritizes quality and customer satisfaction as key ingredients for sustainable growth.

David is Chief Strategy Officer for Applied Aerospace & Defense, one of the industry’s largest manufacturers of flight-critical structures and hardware assemblies. He also serves as Chairman of the Space Supply Chain Council (S2C2) for the Commercial Space Federation. David previously served as President & CEO for four different companies including UltiSat, Peraton Communications, DataPath, and Harris CapRock Government Solutions. David is Chairman Emeritus and former President of the non-profit Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) industry association.

Industry Outreach & Recognition

David currently serves on the Space Supply Chain Council of the Commercial Space Federation industry association. He is also Chairman Emeritus and former President of the non-profit Space & Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) industry association.  He previously served on the advisory board of the CyberSAT industry conference.

In 2015, David was named “Visionary Executive of the Year” by Satellite Markets & Research for leading the public to private spin-out of DataPath from Collins Aerospace and revitalizing the company’s military and broadcast satellite ground system products.

David is author of the book Space with a Private View:  A Primer on Commercial Earth Observation & Remote Sensing. He has written numerous articles for Business Week, U.S. Business Review, Military Information Technology, Defense Systems, and Disaster Recovery Journal as well as academic research papers for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

David is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including Satellite, SIA DoD Commercial Workshop, and CyberSAT He has been featured on podcasts with Talk Satellite magazine and the SSPI New York Space Business Roundtable.

Education & Academia

David holds a Master of Space Operations (MSpO) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Rice University, as well as dual undergraduate degrees in Business and International Relations from Southern Methodist University.

He is currently a participant in the doctoral program in Aviation and Space science at Oklahoma State University.

David is an FAA certified (14 CFR part 107) commercial remote pilot for unmanned aerial systems.
